Ashlyn M.

Write. design. REpeat.

I'm Ashlyn. Welcome to my portfolio & my "niche" - the place where you can check out all of my passions, projects, skills and stories.

I'm a student, freelance writer, amateur graphic designer, SPFX makeup lover, costume assistant & stitcher, novelist and scriptwriter.

I love writing & creating art. Since I'm passionate about quite a few career paths and not quite sure where I'll end up, I've collected a variety of skills in graphic design, new media, writing, stitching, draping, patterning, wardrobe (dressing), styling and hair & makeup.

I  offer freelance graphic design and writing. Most of my stories (and now, a script!) are available on Wattpad, an online writing platform.

Ballet: The Faerie Queen

Characters designed: Archimago, Britomart, Redcrosse, Florimell â€‹

Vision: My designs for Edmund Spencer’s The Faerie Queene draw from elements of English folk tradition, and cross-reference haute couture and 15th century English knights and nobility. The story is one of the longest epic poems ever written, and follows the journey of Redcrosse, the Red Knight, on his quest for truth. He encounters vice, beauty, deception, virtue, chastity, honor and so forth, represented by various fantastical characters. I have chosen to design Redcrosse; Archimago, the sorcerer, his main antagonist in the Book I;  Briomart, a female warrior virgin and the hero of Book III; Florimell, who represents beauty and an Aphrodite-esque figure; a soldier, for the corps; and a member of the faerie court, for the corps.
