I'm Ashlyn. Welcome to my portfolio & my "niche" - the place where you can check out all of my passions, projects, skills and stories.
I'm a student, freelance writer, amateur graphic designer, SPFX makeup lover, costume assistant & stitcher, novelist and scriptwriter.
I love writing & creating art. Since I'm passionate about quite a few career paths and not quite sure where I'll end up, I've collected a variety of skills in graphic design, new media, writing, stitching, draping, patterning, wardrobe (dressing), styling and hair & makeup.
I offer freelance graphic design and writing. Most of my stories (and now, a script!) are available on Wattpad, an online writing platform.
Rosetta (Spring 2018)
In a small coffee shop, a 22-year-old anarchist grapples with love, identity, and the process of change.
I am the costume designer and hair & makeup designer for this experimental short film, which will be shooting over the last two weeks of the spring semester.

Mood board for Kat, his best friend.
Kat is wise, loyal and loyal, reflected in small, simple details of her outfits. Her overall vibe is feminine with a touch of tomboy-casual. She thrifts all her clothes, not necessarily by choice, but she makes it work.
Mood board for Surfer girl, his love interest.
She's his (failed) love interest - kind at first, then icy and annoyed. A conflicting vision of So-Cal prep style meets subdued seminary students. We're going for a 60s-mod vibe, to keep her "cool girl" but also simple in color and pattern.

Chill, married, southern, hip, contemporary. Reflected in simple styling and the use of denim , plaid, browns.
Mood board for Tyler, his coworker.
A wannabe gangster, into hip-hop but very white. Styling will be simple in the jeans and shoes, but will maintain the "homage to his idols" vibe with oversized layers, hat.

Evan loves the wilderness, hates technology, and isolates himself - all qualities reflected in his choices of clothing.
His jacket, pants, and boots will look worn-in and dirty, yet functional, like pieces he's worked in everyday for years.
